July ends with double-digit growth for the Falcone Borsellino international airport: passengers in transit were in fact over 971 thousand, or +21% compared to July last year, when there were 802,439. There was also a leap forward for flights, which numbered 6,482, i.e. 15.4% more than in the same period of 2022 (5,517).
In the statistics released by Gesap, the traffic diverted to Palermo from Catania between 17 and 31 July is also taken into consideration: there were 369 movements and approximately 50 thousand passengers. Which caused quite a few inconveniences in the Palermo airport.
In the first seven months of this year, over 4,574,129 passengers passed through Falcone Borsellino (+14.69% on January-July 2022, when there were 3,988,160). A growing trend also for international traffic, which accounted for 37% of total transits.
