Lonely Planet draws up a ranking of the 17 best Italian beaches in which Sicily is not missing from the top positions. The Sicilian beaches enchant tourists, who choose the island as a destination for their holidays. The beauties of Sicily appear in the top five, with San Vito Lo Capo in fifth place, a location defined by Lonely Planet as “a magical place where land and sea live in such a perfect contrast as to become harmonious”, the 3 kilometer beach located in Fontane Bianche, with fresh water springs that flow from the seabed which comes in fourth place, and in second place is the island of Favignana, the main one of the Egadi islands archipelago.
Three important positions in the ranking which lists the beaches which, according to Lonely Planet, deserve to be visited for their particularity. The beach of Fontane Bianche is defined as “among the most pristine swims you will ever have”. The Sicilian beaches enchant tourists and residents every year, whether they are sandy or rocky, with a purely Mediterranean climate that the island, in its entirety, can provide.
The two BeachMaps, the north/west area and the south/west area of Western Sicily, together with the other editorial products created by PassioneSicilia Edizioni, can be collected at Sicilian airports and information points, as well as from the different partners who have married the project, and be viewed on the homepage of our site.
