Our travel magazine was given to tour operators visiting Sicily for the VII Extra-hotel Tourism Exchange of Confesercenti Sicily.
Amazing Sicily was invited to the VII BTE – Extra-hotel Tourism Exchange of Confesercenti Sicily, which took place for the first time in Palermo, at the Cruise Terminal of the Port.
The BTE, which was held from 10 to 12 November, saw a packed program of B2B meetings between over 150 entrepreneurs and 20 tour operators selected across Europe. This year’s buyers came from France, Spain, Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Ukraine, Romania, Turkey and Portugal. The tour operators landed in Sicily a few days earlier to be able to visit various locations in the region, to see and experience first-hand the tourist attraction factors and the possible experiences to offer to their customers. They went to discover the territory of Santo Stefano di Camastra, also taking part in a ceramic workshop, then on a tour between Castelbuono and Bagheria, finally they admired the monumental route of the Arab-Norman between Palermo and Monreale.
At the opening of the BTE, Amazing Sicily was given to representatives of the tour operators: translated into English and French, our travel magazine, which is distributed free of charge in the airports of Palermo and Catania, tells the story of the wonders that can be visited in Sicily and it was chosen to introduce buyers to the beauties of our land.
Non-hotel tourism is growing rapidly and in the last 10 years it has tripled the number of structures in Sicily, going from just over 2 thousand to almost 7 thousand. The BTE was attended by, among others, the president of the Region Renato Schifani, the national president of Confesercenti Patrizia De Luise, the mayor of Palermo Roberto Lagalla, the general director of West Sicily Gate Antonio Di Monte and the president of Unioncamere Sicilia Giuseppe Pace.
Having been present at the BTE makes us particularly proud because it is a recognition of the work done and the passion we put into describing and telling our Sicily and it is, moreover, a thermometer of the success that Amazing Sicily is already achieving from its first issue.
